Shambling Horror or Flesh Golem?
I have prophecies, and I'm trying to decide whether to buy Factions or Nightfall, and 90% of my decision will be based on whether Flesh Golem, or Shambling Horror is better, overall. I will be using my death necro only for PvE (curses in PvP), and can't decide whether I should buy Factions for golem or Nightfall for shambling horror.
Can someone tell me the pros/cons of both? I think the flesh golem would be great to get a group of minions going (for the first few corpses), but the shambling horror turning into a jagged horror when it dies sounds damn awesome, and the jagged horror causing bleeding sounds even better.

Flesh Golem
Pros:Large and high level(26 @16DM),leaves a corpse
Cons:uses an elite slot (wasteful) 30 sec recharge
Shambling:
Pros:large and high level(18 @16DM),causes bleeding, leaves a jagged horror when it dies, stacks with (Jagged Bones (NF) to produce 2 jagged horror's
Cons:long recharge
With NF you also get the benefit of Order Of Undeath and

So I guess shambing horror would be the better choice? Plus, if all else fails I could eventually get a hero with Flesh Golem.
Random question:
How do you get stats, like death magic, above 16? I just saw that in the wiki.

Consumables
example:Grail of Might
In all honesty nobody i know of would ever bother with stacking consumables to achieve an uber minion like that. Not really worth time or money
----Ninja Edit----
As for weapons:Ghial's Staff has an inherent 20% chance of +1DM[there might be others](modding your own weapons could be an option too)
Heros:Since you have Prophecies,(if) you got nightfall you would be able to get Olias And Ofc (see below)
Nightfall will let you unlock Master Of Whispers
This would leave your party with 3 necros (a hero is a far better minion bomber: Jagged Bones:Animate Bone Minions Death Nova +such) which would free you to run curses with :Mark of pain:Barbs:Spiteful Spirit
Flesh Golem on a hero won't be possible if you dont have factions (even via skill tome)

I don't think you can get an hero with flesh golem without having factions. Get nightfall though. 2 Necro heroes with nightfall and necro heroes are the best heroes with the game due to good energy management.
Additionally heroes are great with jagged bones and death nova.
You can get +1 death magic in a staff or focus with a 20% chance of proc.

If you primarily do PvE then no question:
Nightfall
Pros listed above (Heroes, Shambling, [[Jagged Bones] etc.)
For PvP you'll kinda need them all in the long run ...

Ok then I'll get nightfall, I was leaning that way anyway.
And in the long run, death magic isn't a good choice for PvP.

This is just my opinion but, Flesh golem was only an awesome skill when it first came out. The only Thing thats really good about it is decent (but slow) damage and a constant corpse. Jagged bones however, gives much more, and shambling is a nice skill also since one minion replaces the first that's destroyed.
Just my opinion.

flesh golem is a terrible elite. it has a lower dps than horrors and it dosnt pick targets. even if you only had factions there would be better choices for a MM elite.

Neither one is a very good skill. From NF I would suggest Order of Undeath, and from Factions I would suggest Vampiric Horror. And, unfortunately for you, I suggest using those two skills together.

In my opinion, Flesh Golems are btter than Shamblings but I'd still get NF cuz u get oou which is GREAT mm elite skill(I prefer fleshie thogh) and u get hereos. U also get jagged bones which can be used for bomber builds. And, best of all, u get HEREOS!!!!!!!!!

i use both, along with Vampiric Minions and the ranged minions, forget their names. I also use Spirit's Gift as well to give minor hp but more importantly remove a condition from all allies near that newly created minion.

Nightfall is just a better game PvE wise overall. Flesh is fun, at frist. But there much better elites to use with a MM.

Isn't that a rather poor factor to make a skills decision on? - especially when it comes to wasting your elite slot.
